A Singaraja resident found the remains of a baby girl weighing just 1 kilogram and measuring 33 centimeters on Pantai Indah Beach in Singaraja in Buleleng regency on Friday. The resident of Desa Baktiseraga, Nyoman Suara, 40, was taking his morning jog along the beach when he found the baby wrapped in a pair of adult’s pink shorts.
“I thought it was a doll wrapped in pink shorts, but after I looked at it closely, it was the lifeless body of a baby,” said Nyoman Suara, as quoted by Antara news agency. The baby, found with its placenta, was estimated to have been born prematurely at 33 weeks gestation. It is thought to have lived for only 2 hours after being born. The local police alleged that the baby was unwanted because it was a result of an affair.
