0 Ubud Monkey Forest

Ubud Monkey Forest is so refreshing to see these gorgeous little creatures in such a wonderful environment where they can be so happy and protected. Located in the hearth of Ubud Village and it is just about 1 hour drive from Denpasar Town. Ubud Monkey Forest is a small rain forest dwelt by some group of monkeys and other tropical animals. It is strategically located in the hearth of Ubud Village, precisely located in the region of Padang Tegal Village, Ubud Sub district and Gianyar Regency. Monkey Forests in Balinese language called Wanara Wana are spread out in the island and Ubud Monkey Forest itself own very important function of the continuity the monkey habitat in Bali.

Meanwhile the local community own important role to keep this forest naturally in order to all wild animals able to live smoothly. Ubud Monkey Forest is dwelt by 200 monkeys, pertained to long tail inclusive macaques or macaca fascicularis group which owns the wide disseminating area. Among the amount monkeys living in this forest, there are 23 adult male, 79 adult female and 98 still baby. All the monkeys in this forest consisted of three groups, dwell certain area and use the certain place and certain time. However, it also happened that entire group can use the forest and whenever two groups are existing at same place and time, they will fight each other.

These monkeys are believed as Gods Guard of Dalem Agung Temple, The Hindu Temple exist in the middle of forest. There are three Holy Temples in this monkey forest and those are existing surround the forest and it is estimated built in the middle of 14 century, in the early governance of Gelgel dynasty. Dalem Agung Temple is located in northwest from the forest represent the existence of most important temples. Beside of two others, that are Permandian Temple, in Westside from this forest and Prajapati Temple which is located in south-east side where the place of Dewa Siwa (Siwa God), one of the Khayangan Temple in Padang Tegal Village.

0 Alas Kedaton Monkey Forest

Alas Kedaton Monkey Forest is located in Kukuh countryside, Marga Sub district, Tabanan Regency. Alas Kedaton is a small forest with the width about 6-7ha located in the middle of the rice field in Tabanan regency, west part of Bali. The total size of this forest, temple and its supporter facility is about 12 ha. In this forest, there is a temple called Alas Kedaton Temple and owns the natural environments that is looked green with its fresh air and create the calm, quite and holy atmosphere.

The monkeys in Alas Kedaton are very tame and free gallivanting in temple yard, so that the calm atmosphere is sometime solved by noise voice of the monkey, which are playing around and scrambling of food. The monkeys who dwell in this forest, there are jump up and down in temple wall, take a bath in moat or there is also hang out in few leaves representing impression view. The monkey like as custodian of temple, which are always ready to greet all visitor who are paying a visit to this place.

Beside monkeys, in Kedaton forest also can be met the bats and some other animals. At least 24 types of grove plant have been identified in Alas Kedaton. The journey go to this place can be done easily by using motor vehicle follow the major roadway from Denpasar to Tabanan. On the way go to this tourist place, we will see the beautiful nature view where in front of us will meet the carpet of rice field and irrigation voice at the side of road to bear the impression/peaceful atmosphere.

Alas Kedaton Temple have three yard that are external yard, middle and center yard. In the center and middle yard are encircled by wall and the outside yard is representing a open yard. The interesting point of this temple is the inside yard representing holy yard, its situation lower than the middle yard. This thing is different compare with the general temples in Bali that are more goes to inside the temple, the more higher the place will be. Beside of that another interesting point of this temple owns four entrances.

Temple Festival at Alas Kedaton Temple
The temple ceremony in alas Kedaton temple is carried out every 210 days a year. It is on Anggarakasih Medangsia (Balinese Hindu Calendar) or on every Tuesday where on that time the society do the worship or pray to request the safety and prosperity. The unique in this ceremony is do not use the fire and do not hence Penjor and also finished before the sunset or before the night is come. In growth of handling of this tourist destination, Alas Kedaton has several become a training location about tourism nature, environmental handling and agro tourism.

Alas Kedaton is many visited by the tourist from local and foreign countries which are generally a lot of paying a visit on August, December until January, while the local tourist generally pay a visit on holiday season and feast day of Ramadan (Moslem holiday) and this place is good to be visited in the day time. In front of Alas Kedaton temple there are quite a lot small shops selling the handicraft as souvenir, for example clothes, pants and other handicrafts. Others, there are some shops booth selling food and beverage, toilet and park area which is wide enough.

0 Sangeh Monkey Forest

Sangeh Monkey Forest are running free, not a cage to be seen, thats the way it should be and it's much quieter in terms of crowds. This is a tourist destination in Bali managed by the special organizer from local resident which is consisted of 21 organizers. Sangeh is a small fertile monkey forest dwelling by the group of monkeys. It is located in Sangeh countryside, Badung Regency, north part of Denpasar town. It is one of tourist destinations in Bali which is strategically located beside of the road. The good road has been provided to reach this place and many tourists has come to this place to see the cute of monkeys.

In the century 17 at Monarchic golden era of Mengwi, I Gusti Agung Ketut Karangasem, the son of I Gusti Agung Made Agung, had built the temple in the middle of nutmeg forest and hereinafter it is called as Bukit Sari Temple (like small forest with mixture vegetation and broadness about 10,8 ha). The mythos of this Sangeh Forest is relevant to the happening of forest wood evacuation from Agung Mount in Karangasem to Mengwi in regency of Badung. But on the way of the evacuation, it seen or known by somebody so that it finally becomes the forest which is named with Sangeh.

This Nutmeg Forest is formally as a Tourism Garden Nature, which is also as a holy area of temple for worshiping to the god. It is executed from local people from Sangeh Countryside and its surrounding area. It is also become a secret function beside of tourist object as a commercial tourism business. According to the info rmation of Hall KSDA (Experienced Resource Conservation) Forest Department, Sangeh Forest is growth by 6.825 grove bar, which is consisted of 28 birch and also 22 clump type/bush.

0 Buddha Temple

Buddha Temple offers the opportunity to meditate others to admire the beautiful buildings and surroundings. The Temple perched on a slope of a hill, Brahmavira Arama Buddhist Temple and Monastery rise majestically overlooking a sea with lush green hill as a background. Precisely, the Monastery is located in Tegehe hamlet, the village of Banjar, near Lovina, in Buleleng Regency. This monastery is not a tourist attraction, the monastery still serves as place for praying, worshipping and meditating for the Buddhist communities in North Bali.

Everyday, you can find some worshipper come to pay homage in the monastery, but the peak of the visitors is on the holy Vaisak day, in which most Buddhist in north Bali come to this monastery to celebrate the Vaisak. Brahmavira Arama Monastery is a terraced temple complex in which each level has its own structures. Each structure is adorned with exuberant Balinese woodcarvings which show the assimilation of Balinese culture into the architecture of the monastery. On the highest level of the complex you can find a miniature version of Borobudur (biggest Buddhist Temple).

This monastery also boasts of a huge temple bell donated from Thailand, panels depicting Buddha Fables, and Buddha Sculpture. And of course monastery has a few praying rooms with golden Buddha’s statues, you can also find several Buddha statues in the garden. Once again, this Buddhist is not a tourist attraction, entrance is free, but if you want to make a donation please do not hesitate. You can also borrow sarongs you may need to enter the temple for free.

0 Tohpati Village

Tohpati Village offers beautiful designs of weaving inspired by religious mythologies to everyday encounters, spread throughout the world. Lies in the eastern part of denpasar with famous of batik hand weaving center, is just about 12 kilometers from Kuta. Batik is a traditional form of painting fabric. They painstakingly use dots and lines from wax to decorate the cloth. It is very impressive to watch.

It would be impossible to visit or live in Indonesia and not be exposed to one of the country’s most highly developed art forms, batik. On your first visit to a batik home industry, you will undoubtedly experience an overwhelming stimulation of the senses – due to the many colors, patterns and the actual smell of batik. Only through repeated visits and a bit of study will the types of designs and their origins become apparent.

0 Bali Coffee Agrotourism

Bali Coffee Agrotourism which is located in Kintamani has the best quality of coffee, if you are a coffee lover this is a must visit place while you are in Bali. This coffee plantation is a perfect place to stop by to see how the balinese traditional way to make coffee. The place to see various of plantation such as coffee arabica, coffee robusta, pineapple, Balinese snake fruite (salak), plain Balinese potatoes, fruit stars, cacao, jack fruit, durian tree and etc, experience to see how to make Balinese coffee, try the best of Balinese coffee or ginger tea with green view river valley. They sell variety of theirs original Balinese coffee products, herb oil and etc.

You can sample their different varieties of coffee, tea, and cocoa; and also see the Luwak animal that eats the beans, which are then processed after the beans are digested to make one of the most expensive coffees in the world. As you enter, you can see a wide range of plants that are grown here, not just coffee, but many different herbs and spices. There is a gift shop where you can purchase their products, including spa products (aroma therapy).

0 Candikuning Fruit Market

Candikuning Fruit Market provides fresh fruits, vegetables, spices, and such exotic flowers as delicate orchids and roses, creating an array of wonderful colors. Located at Candi Kuning countryside which can be reached only in a few minutes from the lake. It is not far from Ulun Danu Temple. Buyan Lake and Tamblingan Lake are the next places of interest existing near the Beratan Lake and it is just 3 minutes drive by car from this place.

The visitors can visit the Candikuning village market to buy the fresh mango, banana, papaya, avocado, orange, as well as various spices, flowers, vegetables, handicrafts, paintings, and fabrics. If you love rabbits, here you can buy the cute one at the price you will be happy to pay. In the entire surroundings you can find loads of public facilities, local restaurants, accommodations, and more.

0 Lake Tamblingan and Lake Buyan

Lake Tamblingan and Lake Buyan lies in the rich submontane rainforest area around Bedugul, Sukasada Village, Buleleng. The lake located in a very strategic area, which is between Lovina Beach, Ulun danu beratan temple and also Gitgit waterfall. With mount Lesong as it's background this lake offer a very nice experience if you wish to visit. Now this area has been developed, that seen from a lot of tourist come to this place everyday, from domestic tourist until the tourists from foreign country.

We able to see the panorama directly from Asah Gobleg area. In the street side there are a lot of place to sit and relaxing while we watch the Lake. because this area located between of this two lake. For the people who liked camping, in this area also have a location that support for camping. We can reach this Lake about 2-3 hrs from Denpasar to the north. Around the lake, there are also a lot of monkeys that randomly appear in the street near the Lake. There are some facility in this lake, like Parking area, traditional boot to rent for recreation even for fishing in this Lake.

Lake Tamblingan
Lake Tamblingan is a lake located in the plateau area with green hill surrounded, It is situated adjunction to Buyan Lake with cool weather. It has the fascination where the nature authenticity can be felt and the inexistence of motorized boat here. These beautiful lakes can be seen from the top hill right from Asah Gobleg Countryside, Sukasada District and Singaraja regency, north part of Bali. This lake is ideal for Jungle Trekking Adventure because it is very amazing with the rain forest including flora and fauna observation.

Beside of that, many local visitors are doing camping program or outdoor team building while enjoy the beautiful nature. Here we can also see the local residents use the small traditional boat which is called Perahu to cross the lake or do fishing. The existence of monkey which is not far from these two lakes are precisely located beside the main road from Denpasar to Singaraja. In progressively, the amounts are more and more dwelling this area and it was one of fascination for tourist who visit it. It is located in Sukasada sub district, 21 km south side of Singaraja. It is situated in the high land about 1000 meters above sea level so that the atmosphere is rather cold and chilled at night.

Lake Buyan
Lake Buyan is a smallest lake in Bali located just next to Tamblingan Lake. It is located in the plateau area and covered by cool weather. It is situated in the high land with hill and rain forest surround it. Since the location in the plateau area, the fog is usually blanketing the area. This lake can be seen from the top of hill which is called Asah Gobleg. Asah Gobleg itself is the name of the countryside located on the top of hill where the villagers live with agricultural life. Buyan Lake has the broadness about 3,9 km, with the maximum of deepness is 87 meters and the water volume is 0,116 km3. As a tourist destination, in Buyan Lake has been available the stop point with traditional chair along the road. The temperature in this place is relatively cool in particular at night and it is many visited by tourists in particular from local.

0 West Bali National Park

 West Bali National Park is very varied with rainforests, dry savannas, acacia scrubs and lowland forests, as well as more montane forests in the higher region. This Park is one of the most spectacular national parks located on the western in Jembrana and Bueleng Regencies most tip of the island. With almost 200,000 acres of arid forests and mangrove swamps, Bali Barat (West Bali) National Park is a valuable natural treasure. Until recently, this was one of the few areas left sculptured by rice terraces and other human endeavors. West Bali National Park area is a green are spread out along the main road Denpasar – Gilimanuk – Singaraja about 150 kilometers.

Topographic of this park own constant gradation between mount, hill, valley, bay and sea. The mountain area is involving up to 71% from the total park area as protected forest with multifarious faunas like deer, forest pig, lion, birth etc. meanwhile the flat area is about 29% located in north part of main road Gilimanuk – Singaraja until Java Sea. If we look from the conception, this area is a Giri/Gunung or mounts which is completed by the forest (Wanagiri). According to Kidung Utama Tantri script there is a word mention Ning Wana Ukir which gives the direction that the Wana Giri philosophy is well written to describe the total of this world.

The diverse fauna exist here, including Jalak Putih Bali/Bali starling (Leuoeopsarrhotschildi) and Bull (Bos javanicus), Antelop (Muntiacus Muntjak), deer (Cervus timorensis), monkey (Presbytis cristata, Macaca sp.), Scaly anteater ( Manis javanica), boar (Sus scrofa), hedgehog (Hystrix javanica), Sturnus melanotenus, Sturnus contra, Acridotenis fuscus, Picoides mucet, Orialus chinensis, Haliastur sp., Galus sp. Since Bali is such a densely populated, intensively cultivated island, very little wild forest is left. Such primary monsoon forests as remain (about 50,000 hectares) are found along the watershed at the western end of island, on the slopes of the mountains Sangiang, Merbuk, Musi, and Patas, an area not nearly as rugged as the higher mountains of eastern Bali.

More like a forest than a jungle, the park offers exceptional walking and first class panoramas. The types of the land are forest, savannah, mangrove, coast, beach, and conservation forest. The plantation that formed the pure forest are sawo kecik (Manilkara kooki) and palm (Borrassus flellifer).
