Two vocational high school students were robbed of their uniforms and of Rp 46,000 ($4.75) by four students from another school on Wednesday afternoon, police said. The victims, who were identified as A.W. and A.G., were waiting to buy petrol for their motorcycles at a gas station in Pasar Minggu in South Jakarta on Wednesday at around noon, when they were mobbed by a group of 12 students who were on a bus.
The assailants, who were wearing a uniform which belonged to a shipping vocational school in East Jakarta, immediately surrounded the two victims, before four of the 12 people took their motorcycles and drove themselves and the victims to a field in the Pondok Labu area. The four students stole the victims' uniforms, including their school caps and belts, plus Rp 46,000 in cash.
"A robbery using force took place against the two victims, A.W. and A.G.," said Comr. Aswin, a spokesman from the South Jakarta Police. “They were threatened with a sickle and were forced to drink and smoke.” The two students were released about an hour later at 1 p.m. in the Fatmawati area, along with their motorcycles. Aswin said the pair reported the case to the South Jakarta Police once they were released. He said the case was currently under investigation.
