Golkar Party lawmaker Zulkarnaen Djabar and his son Dendi Prasetya will soon stand trial as the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has completed its investigation into their alleged involvement in a graft-ridden Koran procurement at the Religious Affairs Ministry. KPK prosecutors are now preparing the case. “We are preparing the prosecution. We have 14 days to bring the case to the Jakarta Corruption Court,” KPK acting spokesperson Priharsa Nugraha told reporters on Friday.
In September of last year, the commission detained Zulkarnaen after he and Dendi were named suspects in June. Zulkarnaen was accused of accepting bribes to secure project bids in favor of certain companies. One of them was PT Karya Sinergi Alam Indonesia, which belongs to Dendi. The KPK, however, has not detained Dendi as he is still undergoing medical treatment for a broken leg.
