0 Molested student refuses to return to school

A young student who was molested in Jambi has refused to return to school after being allegedly sexually abused by an official at the Jambi Food Resilience Agency. The victim, identified only as PH, 15, is said to have felt ashamed over the sexual abuse case. “I have tried to get her to go back to school because she is in her last year [at a junior high school] and she will be sitting national exams in the near future, but she refuses to do so,” said Nurjanah, PH’s mother, on Friday. 

Nurjanah said one of the school’s teachers had also asked her to return as her name was already listed as a participant in the examinations. “PH said she would be willing to go back to school once the issue was settled and had been brought to court,” she added. Nurjanah said the case was yet to be settled as police were apparently still investigating, adding that it has been three months since the alleged molestation occurred.
