0 Guess what?: Piyu helps Jakarta flood victims

Back from a two-week family vacation in Europe, rock band Padi’s lead guitarist, Satriyo Yudi “Piyu” Wahono, faced a harsh reality when he found out that his office on Jl. Blora in Central Jakarta was inundated during the severe flood that hit the city last week. “Luckily, the recording studio is located upstairs. The building was flooded, but our equipment is safe and sound,” the 39-year-old musician said, as quoted by kompas.com. 

Piyu said that he was moved by the flood victims’ plight and decided to help them by delivering food and aid to the residents of Tegal Alur and Rawa Bokor in Cengkareng. ”We found a toddler in Tegal Alur who needed medical attention and after referring him to a hospital, we have now received word that he will be taken care of.” Piyu said that he found his experience in Europe jarring when compared to the conditions in Jakarta. “In Europe, the cities are well-developed with beautiful rivers. Here in Indonesia, it is so much different. There is so much to be done here.”
