Seven people, including five high school students, were killed and 18 injured following a head-on collision between a public minivan and a travel minibus near Pasar Usang in Padangpariaman regency, West Sumatra, on Tuesday. Four passengers were reportedly in critical condition.
The deceased comprise public minivan driver; Samsurizal, a teacher at SMAN 1 Batang Anai high school and five high school students. The students were identified as Citra Wulan, Yunisa Afridisma and Magistra A. Nurahman from SMAN 1 Batang Anai; Fauzi Agustian from SMAN 1 Lubuk Alung; and Laura Sitia from SMPN 1 Batang Anai. Padangpariaman Police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Amirjan said the accident remained under investigation. The injured are under treatment at Sitti Rahmah Hospital and Dr. M Djamil Hospital.
